✨ ¿Cuál de estos 3 tipos de procrastinación tienes? (Y cómo empezar a romper el ciclo)

✨ Which of these 3 types of procrastination do you have? (And how to start breaking the cycle)

Does it ever happen to you that you have a beautiful idea for your business... but you don't start?

That you leave that reel pending.
That you postpone updating your store.
That you've been saying "I'm going to get more organized" for weeks... and nothing.

And the more you put it off, the worse you feel.

If you identify with this, I want to tell you something important:

It's not always a lack of discipline.
Sometimes it's procrastination.

And no, it's not just "leaving everything for later."

The National Autonomous University of Mexico explains that procrastination can be related to anxiety, emotional regulation, and even fear.

And that changes the conversation.

🌸 First: procrastinating is not resting

This seems key to me.

Resting is pausing to regain energy.

Procrastinating is avoiding something important while still feeling worried.

It seems similar... but it's not the same.

🌼 Real example:
Andrea was going to design the new collection of planners.

But first, "she was just going to look at Instagram for five minutes."

Two hours later, she was still on social media... and feeling guilty.

That wasn't rest.

That was evasion.

🧠 The 3 types of procrastination

1. Procrastination by avoidance

(When you postpone because you're afraid of failing)

This type appears when a task confronts you.

You're afraid of not doing it perfectly.
Not knowing how to start.
Not feeling good enough.

So... you don't start.

🌸 Real example:
Lucía wanted to launch a new product on Shopify.

But since she didn't know if it would sell, she had spent three months "fine-tuning details."

It wasn't perfectionism.

It was fear disguised.

💖 What helps:

  • breaking the task into mini-steps

  • using the "opposite action" technique (doing precisely what you're avoiding)

  • writing only the first step in your planner

Not "launch the product."

Just:

✔ write description
✔ take photos
✔ upload a reference

Small and real.

2. Procrastination by activation

(When you only function under pressure)

Here you say:

"I work better under pressure."

But in reality... you survive under pressure.

🌿 Real example:
Mariana always leaves her reels for the last day.

She ends up editing at midnight, tired, improvising.

Does it get done? Yes.

Could it be easier? Also yes.

💡 What helps:

Try the Pomodoro technique:

25 minutes focused
5-minute break

And repeat.

In your planner, you can create blocks like:

⏰ 10:00–10:25 write content
☕ break
⏰ 10:30–10:55 record

Pressure no longer rules.

The system does.

3. Procrastination by indecision

(When you do nothing because you don't know where to start)

This is very common among creative women.

You have too many ideas.

And you become paralyzed.

🌸 Real example:
Paola wanted to reorganize her business.

She thought about changing her logo, website, catalog, prices...

It was so much... that she did nothing.

💡 What helps:

Use the Eisenhower Matrix:

Draw a cross on a sheet of paper and divide it into:

Urgent + important
Important + not urgent
Urgent + not important
Neither urgent nor important

This reduces mental noise.

And provides clarity.

📔 How a planner can help you stop procrastinating

This is where paper comes in.

Because many times we procrastinate due to mental overload.

Not because we don't want to move forward.

That's why I've designed planners like these:

✨ "Starting Today" Planner

For women who postpone due to fear.

Includes:

  • space to break down goals

  • actionable first steps

  • progress tracking

🌸 "No Last Minute" Planner

For those who live in a rush.

With:

  • Pomodoro blocks

  • weekly planning

  • focus times

💖 "Less Chaos, More Clarity" Journal

For those with too many ideas.

With:

  • prioritization matrices

  • brain dumping

  • decisions by category

🫶 If you procrastinate, don't punish yourself

Maybe you're not lazy.

Maybe you're anxious.

Maybe you're overwhelmed.

Maybe you need structure.

And that can be worked on.

Procrastination is not an identity.

It's a pattern.

And patterns can be transformed.

✨ Conclusion

The question isn't:

"Why am I not doing anything?"

But rather:

"What's holding me back?"

Because when you understand if you procrastinate out of fear, pressure, or indecision... you can start to change.

And that changes everything.
